Dept. or Division: Epidemic Answers, Documenting Hope Project: Administrative

Status: Non-Exempt

Reports to: Documenting Hope Executive Director, Principal Investigator and Senior Scientist

Written by: Beth Lambert, Executive Director

Approved by: Epidemic Answers Board Of Directors, The Documenting Hope Project Executive Team

Position Summary

The Documenting Hope Research Assistant works under the direction of the Senior Scientist and Principal Investigator to provide data analysis support and systems implementation support to the Documenting Hope Research Team.

The Documenting Hope Project is comprised of two primary research studies with Principal Investigator, Martha Herbert, PhD, MD:

  1. The CHIRP™ Study, (Child Health Inventory for Resilience and Prevention) CHIRP™ is an IRB-approved (WIRB® Protocol #20173049) survey which collects a broad range of health and lifestyle data on children ages 1-15.
  2. FLIGHT™ Study, (Facilitated Longitudinal Intensive Investigation of Genuine Health Transformation). FLIGHT™ is a prospective research framework designed to observe, document, measure and facilitate a collaborative, trans-disciplinary, and individualized approach to addressing children’s chronic health conditions.

The studies are designed in the spirit of systems biology by appreciating that human bodies and brains are self-organizing systems, naturally capable of maintaining and repairing themselves under a uniquely wide range of environmental circumstances. When humans are well nourished, active, and free of chronic stressors, they flourish, but the modern environment is vastly altered and increasingly toxic. The CHIRP™ Study aims to document the patterns associated with the modern environment’s impact on the most vulnerable among us, children. The FLIGHT™ Study is designed to demonstrate whole-child health transformations. These studies could have far-reaching influence on the future of healthcare.
