I helped my daughter to heal from eczema, and there is hope.
Before Clara got better, life was really challenging, not just for her because she was the one suffering, but really for the whole family because she’d be up in the middle of the night. She’d be crying, sometimes yelling. Things would get intense really fast, and we may not have been impacted physically, but we were all very emotionally involved with this process. It was a family journey, really, not just an individual one.
Clara’s Mom Took Her to an Allergist
The allergist’s solution was to medicate her. He had topical things that he could use, creams and such, and then also come in for a shot on a certain calendar schedule. And I didn’t want to set her up for a lifetime of that. I just wanted to find the root cause. And that was a very difficult time. I just felt like I have no idea what to do from here.
What Worked
The most impactful therapy we tried was an anti-yeast protocol that I had read about in a book. The solution we found, really, it was just self-guided.
Highest Moment
Seeing how once Clara came to a place of steady healing, she wasn’t fully better yet, but she was healing steadily. Getting to see her enjoy things that she didn’t have memories of enjoying in the past was really special as a mom.
Advice for Other Parents
I would really encourage and plead with parents or caregivers to not be satisfied really until you have found that root cause because the root cause is that’s going to be your answer and it’s going to help you win that battle.
