IMPACT OF NUTRITION ON HEALTH OUTCOMES

The literature strongly documents that nutritional interventions can have profound impacts on health outcomes. Yet one of the challenges with current research in this area is that many researchers use the standard pharmacological model (studying one molecule at a time) for establishing efficacy of nutrition. Nutritional factors, however, do not work in isolation; in fact, the opposite is true. A complex interplay of micronutrients, vitamins, minerals, and macronutrients within foods, and nutrients work in concert to impact health.
