Gut Health & Microbiome
The term “microbiome” is referred to by experts as the collection of the genomes of microbes in a particular ecosystem. Although each system in the body has its own particular microbiome, the health of the gut microbiome is particularly important for overall health because over 70% of the immune system is influenced and shaped by the enteric bacteria or gut flora found in the microbiome of the gastrointestinal tract. There is an intrinsic, complex interaction among the gut, the immune system, and even the nervous system, which includes our brains!
